Six Substations for Areva West bay
A design and built project consisting of six 66/11 KVA Substations including all MEP services and
landscaping in West Bay area. Each building has a plinth area of approximately 900 meters, with a
basement for cable entry, ground floor accommodating 66/11 KVA switchgear rooms, transformer yard,
AC/DC room and battery rooms. First floor consists of a control and relay room. The substations are
located amongst high rise buildings in the West Bay area.
Central Plant 5 (CP 5)
The CP facilities houses the mechanical plant, pumping and cooling facilities required to keep Education
City continually supplied with water services. The facilities include below ground plant and pump rooms,
with attendant basement level water storage facilities to store raw and treated water supplies for fire,
irrigation, domestic and cooling services. The above grade cooling towers of each CP are clad with a
louvered screen arrangement, which is intended to screen the internal apparatus within the CP from
view and provide a media which can be used for advertising or decoration. CP5 occupies a building
footprint of approximately 150×100 m, with a basement level for chillers plants, distribution pumps and
water storage tanks, approximately 8.5 m deep. The maximum height of the exterior cladding is
approximately 16 m. The CP includes new perimeter roads to facilitate access to the plant for operation,
maintenance and construction.
North Site Central Plant CP3 and CP6
The Project involved Construction, Completion & Maintenance of the proposed Central Energy Plant CP3
& CP6. The Worksite was located in the north side of Education city. For the Purpose of this contract, the
worksite comprised of two elements for CP3 & CP6 respectively. Each CP occupies a building footprint of
approximately 150×100 m, with basement level for chiller plants, distribution pumps and water storage
tanks, approximately 8.5 m deep. The maximum height of the exterior cladding is approximately 16 m.
Each CP is to include new perimeter roads to facilitate access to the plant for operation, maintenance
and construction.
Umm A Houl IWPP Project Desalination 76.5 MIGD (MSF)
The Project consisted of installing 76.5 MIGD (MSF)+60 IGD (RO) desalination plant in Qatar Economic
Zone 3(QEZ3) with a Power plant and common facilities needed for this plant. Civil & Building works
related to 3 units of MSF Plant (3 unit’s X 25.3 MIGD) in the desalination plant were under Gulf
Contracting Company. Gulf Contracting Company did the works at 2 more units as a variation to the
contract.

Doha West Sewage Treatment Works (Extension 5)
The expansion of the Doha West Sewerage Treatment Works Extension 5 was to increase the capacity to
receive, treat and dispose of wastewater to an average flow of 280,000 m³ per day. It is a state of the art
plant using modern processes such as Ultra-Filtration. The effluent quality exceeds all common
international standards and is used, among other uses, to irrigate local farms. Involved since 2008 in
phase 3 of the expansion works, Gulf Contracting Company completed all civil construction, buildings
and MEP works. Additionally, we completed the external works, an extensive refurbishment of the
existing plant and constructed two storage lagoons.
